Driving service

Driving service

Since December 1998, this service is addressed without discrimination to any person living with the HIV-AIDS in partial loss of autonomy (temporary or permanent), namely any person not being able to move alone, without the assistance or the supervision of others.

This service continues the achievement of the two following objectives:

  1. to contribute to constancy with respect to medical treatments and medication observance.
  2. to support accessibility to the community and public health services for the isolated people, mainly the members of the ethnocultural communities as well as women and their family.

The fact that Maison Plein Cœur can rely on a vehicle makes it possible to suitably answer the psychosocial urgencies lived by its customers. This vehicle is also used to accompany back in their residence the participants in the activities of the food services. The people living in network housing facilities as well as the residents of Maison Plein Cœur who return to live in the community can take advantage of the vehicle for transporting light personal effects.

The principal achievements of the driving service in the last year are as follows:

  • assistance with medical appointments for the pregnant women and the mothers with their children;
  • accompaniment to medical appointments and the return in the community of the people living in housing facilities;
  • accompaniment of people receiving examinations and treatments against opportunist diseases (magnetic resonance, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, protocol of research, resistance to the drugs, etc.);
  • coordination of the appointments of the people living with the HIV-AIDS with the professionals of health and social services;
  • accompaniment with specific psychosocial appointments aiming at the return to civil autonomy (visit of dwellings, social security, defense of rights, driving licence, etc.);
  • back to home accompaniment for groups, starting from the food banks.

Note : considering the current resource available at Maison Plein Cœur, it is not possible to translate most of the internal documents in English for the moment. However, if you wish to get more information about a service we offer, or for any comment, please contact us.
