Maison Plein Cœur is a community organization founded on January 1, 1991. It was indicated as such under the terms of article 397, 2nd part, of the Law on the social and health services. Its incorporation is attested by letters patent delivered to the applicants on April 19, 1991. Maison Plein Cœur was recognized a charity organization by the proper legal authorities and carries the charity registration number 13389 5094 RR0001.
Louis Marie Gagnon, Roger Poirier and Rourk E.C. Simon, wanting to fight the growing loneliness, isolation and poverty of people living with the HIV-AIDS are responsible for Maison Plein Cœur foundation and its establishment in the Center-South district of Montreal, where the population is currently the most affected in Quebec by the difficulties generated by the infection with the HIV-AIDS.
The fundamental objectives of Maison Plein Cœur are to contribute to prevent the disease and to promote health to the people living with the HIV-AIDS. These objectives are fulfilled with the help of partners from the health community network and from public social services. The contributions consist in renewing community services which aim to identify signs of vulnerability, to understand causes of these disorders and to find out solution tracks adapted and accessible to people in their environment.
To achieve these goals, Maison Plein Cœur continues to try building community services in order to stabilize the situation of people living with health and organization disorders connected to HIV-AIDS. The organization also proposes services for people living with HIV-AIDS wishing to take or continue the steps for returning to the active social life.
Maison Plein Cœur offers these services without any discrimination based on sex, race, belief, sexual orientation or financial situation.
